Welcome to our Paisley Eurowalk. The walk is a straight 2 kms in Paisley town centre.
Paisley is famous for its historical thread making and weaving industries and its paisley pattern. On this walk we will discover some of the European influences on these industries. The walk will start at Paisley Abbey where we will discover the links to a religious order from France and how the Abbey was central to the history of Scotland’s and indeed the rest of the UK’s royal families. Historical links with France and Belgium will be uncovered on this walk. If you know of any other historical links we should feature for Paisley then please get in touch.
Accessibility:
Some of the area is on level ground for example the area around Paisley Abbey. However the full walk involves walking on and off pavements and some walking up and downhill so would not be accessible for all. If you feel you can’t join the walk then please enjoy the many photographs and links on the website.
