A monument by Glasgow artist William Kellock Grown, of Thomas Carlyle, the 19th Century essayist, historian, philosopher and translator. He famously wrote the three volumes of The French Revolution : A History which was first published in 1837 and which was said to have been an inspiration and reference for Charles Dickens when he wrote A Tale of Two Cities.
