The following Fife communities have twinning arrangements or partnerships with municipalities elsewhere in Europe.
- Aberdour – twinned with Corte Franca in Italy since 2004
- Burntisland – twinned with Flekkefjord in Norway since 1946
- Culross – community partnership with Veere in The Netherlands for over 400 years
- Cupar – twinned with Sainte-Menehould in France since 2010
- Dunfermline – twinned with Trondheim in Norway since 1945
- Glenrothes – twinned with Böblingen in Germany since 1971
- Kirkcaldy – twinned with Ingolstadt in Germany since 1962
- Leven – twinned with Bruges in France since 2015
- Lower Largo – twinned with Villennes-sur-Seine in France since 2023
- Newport-on-Tay – twinned with Zolotarevo in Ukraine since 2002
- St Andrews – twinned with Loches in France since 2015 (previous cultural partnership since 1996)
