This walk takes you past some of Edinburgh’s major attractions with European connections.
This walk starts at the Wojtek Monument in Princes Street Gardens on the opposite side of 108 Princes Street, Edinburgh’s main thoroughfare. We will walk around the centre of Edinburgh and finish at Calton Hill.
The walk covers approximately 5.5 kilometres and should take most people a couple of hours to complete. Some of the route is level, such as at the start along Princes Street. However, the walk does involve steps, cobbles and several hills, so may not be accessible for all. If you feel you can’t join the walk, please enjoy the many photographs and links on the website.
Parking is difficult to find and expensive in Central Edinburgh. We suggest you use public transport or taxis. There is a parking lot at Castle Terrace EH1 2EW.
Public transport: A number of buses and the tram pass along Princes Street. The nearest train station is Waverley. You can find up to date information on buses, trams and trains from Traveline, Lothian Bus or National Rail Enquiries.
